A few days ago, Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of market supervision and administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall management of defective automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall management of defective automobile products. From May 14, 2021, it is decided to recall 24664 imported Lincolns from mainland China.
Recall Model
Part of the 2017-2018 model year imported Lincoln Continental manufactured from June 24, 2016 to September 20, 2019.
Reasons For Recall
Due to the supplier's reasons, there may be liquid leakage in the active fixing bracket of the engine and transmission of the vehicles within the scope of this recall, which may cause the pin of the engine control module (PCM) connector to be corroded, resulting in the failure of the vehicle to start, the failure of the charging system, the failure of the air conditioner, the engine warning light on, etc, In extreme cases, it may cause vehicle idling or engine flameout when driving, which may cause potential safety hazards.
Solutions
Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. will entrust Lincoln's authorized dealers to inspect the engine, transmission active fixing bracket and bracket plug for leakage or corrosion free of charge for the vehicles within the scope of recall. If the bracket leaks or the bracket plug is corroded, replace the engine and transmission fixed bracket, and replace or repair the engine harness and PCM as appropriate; If the bracket and bracket plug are not leaking or corroded, the engine and transmission active fixing bracket plug and wiring harness will be sealed to eliminate the possibility of liquid entering into PCM, and the PCM will be corrected to eliminate potential safety hazards.
